Sharkey raise a glass to Edinburgh Gin

The multi-million design and build project, for renowned Scottish distiller Ian Macleod Ltd, involves the creation of a new distillery and visitor centre for their premium brand Edinburgh Gin. In a prominent location at the junction of Cranston Street and East Market Street, the centre will comprise a 3-storey new build, designed in a subtle blend of modern and traditional materials. The building will be constructed immediately in front of and will incorporate as a key functional design element, five existing listed Victorian arches and will be topped by a wrap-round roof terrace.

We are delighted to be involved in supporting the continuing growth of this exciting Scottish brand and look forward very much to working with IMD and their design team to create a stunning new addition to this burgeoning area on the edge of the Old Town.

Sharkey sprint to Powderhall project award

Our appointment by the City of Edinburgh Council to undertake the restoration of the Category B-listed Powderhall Stables community project follows on the heels of our recent project award by the Council. As a framework partner, Sharkey will deliver projects within a range of public sectors, including:  education, housing, social care, leisure, libraries, blue light, health and social care, offices, transport, military, farms, recycling and waste centres, industrial and commercial buildings and other public sector operational buildings and establishments.

Sharkey Target Platinum First

Located at the core of Edinburgh’s burgeoning financial district, the project will see Sharkey undertake a transformational  fit-out across three levels of Capital Square, the City’s latest landmark office development, creating a contemporary and flexible working environment for members of staff relocating from two existing offices.

In support of Brodies’ culture and values, Sharkey will deliver the Capital Square fit-out to accredited environmental standards that will enhance the health and wellness of building users. Employing the WELL Building Standard, a performance-based environmental monitoring system, the project is targeting a ‘Platinum’ rating – one of the first to be achieved in Scotland.
