Sharkey enables view of the future for Scotland’s leading lawyers

Sharkey is delighted to have successfully delivered another innovative office fit-out that further pushes the boundaries of new ways of working. In partnership with an enlightened client and a talented design team, we are proud to have contributed to creating a flexible, stimulating workspace that enjoys spectacular views of the city and one that places the emphasis firmly on the health and wellbeing of all its staff and clients alike.

The 43,000 sqft project was completed on budget, despite the recent challenges faced by the construction sector. The office, which occupies the top three floors of the Capital Square complex, officially opening for business in January 2022, drawing praise from our client, who expressed their delight with the finished result. Consistently delivering next generation projects to the highest quality, serves to reinforce Sharkey’s reputation in this specialist field and underscores our position at the vanguard of innovative workplace delivery.

Sharkey secures win at Ibrox

The major design and build project will entail the construction of a state of the art conference venue immediately adjacent to Ibrox Stadium. The sleek, two storey structure will incorporate a club museum and a Rangers Store and café together with a flexible events space, that will serve as both a fan zone and a concert venue.

We are very much looking forward to being involved in this prestigious project at such an historic time for the football club.

Sharkey finish one up at St Andrews

Sharkey have gone onwards and upwards at the Home of Golf in a multi-phase project to extend and adapt the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews in readiness for the 150th Open Championship taking place in 2022 on the historic links alongside the hotel. Our works seamlessly added a further floor to what is now the Champions’ Wing, providing a further 13 guest bedrooms and comprehensively upgrading 42 existing bedrooms and suites. The project, carried out with the hotel continuing to operate as normal, also involved the reimagining of the iconic ‘Green Sheds’ to create an enlarged and upgraded ‘Hall of Champions’, a 450-seat conference and events facility.

Sharkey raise the roof in City’s historic members’ club

Presented with a range of challenges in what is the oldest and most exclusive members’ club in the City of London, Sharkey successfully completes sensitive major alterations to the Club’s Grade II* listed building. The vertical expansion project entailed Sharkey adding a further floor and constructing a new roof structure in one of the Square Mile’s most logistically challenging locations, immediately alongside the 600 ft Tower 42. The project also involved the conversion of existing accommodation to create 20 individually bespoke bedroom suites along with an elegant bar and roof terrace for club members and guests.

Sharkey raise a glass to Edinburgh Gin

The multi-million design and build project, for renowned Scottish distiller Ian Macleod Ltd, involves the creation of a new distillery and visitor centre for their premium brand Edinburgh Gin. In a prominent location at the junction of Cranston Street and East Market Street, the centre will comprise a 3-storey new build, designed in a subtle blend of modern and traditional materials. The building will be constructed immediately in front of and will incorporate as a key functional design element, five existing listed Victorian arches and will be topped by a wrap-round roof terrace.

We are delighted to be involved in supporting the continuing growth of this exciting Scottish brand and look forward very much to working with IMD and their design team to create a stunning new addition to this burgeoning area on the edge of the Old Town.
